Music Residency

Fish Factory Creative Centre · in partnership with Studio Silo

Our Music Residency invites composers, producers and bands to develop new work in a uniquely equipped, coastal arts hub. Residents share the Fish Factory’s vibrant community of visual artists and creatives while working independently in a focused environment.

Music Spaces & Equipment

Residents have access to music equipment and instruments on site, including pianos, keyboards, guitars, drum kits, amplifiers, and backline. Recording and rehearsal setups support a wide range of working methods, from composition and pre-production to DIY recording.

Residents may have access to the Live Room at Studio Silo for a limited time during their residency at no extra cost. This is organised in advance with Vinny Wood the Studio Engineer, with confirmation of the Studio’s normal booking schedule being finalised the month before the start of the residency. It is also possible to book Vinny and the full Studio for a number of days during your stay. The current day rate is 120,000 ISK.

Public Presentation / Concerts

Depending on availability and the time of year, it may be possible to organise a public concert during or at the end of the residency. There are several venues in the region, and through our partnership with Fjarðabyggð, we can explore options for either ticketed or non-ticketed events. Any public presentation is subject to scheduling, venue availability, and mutual agreement.
