Our Music Residency invites composers, producers and bands to develop new work in a uniquely equipped, coastal arts hub. Residents share the Fish Factory’s vibrant community of visual artists and creatives while enjoying dedicated time in professional music spaces.
Studio & Gear
Live Room @ Studio Silo
- Guaranteed access for 14 non-consecutive days during your stay (often more when the calendar allows).
- Instruments on site: piano, keyboards, electric & acoustic guitars, full drum kit and assorted amps.
- Residents bring their own audio interface and microphones to track independently.
- A Fish Factory sound engineer can be booked separately for recording sessions (fee and availability depend on the studio schedule).
Concert Hall
Ideal for rehearsals, test gigs, re-amping or capturing natural acoustics. Equipped with piano, organs, drum kit, guitars, backline and a flexible PA system.
Who It Suits
- Solo musicians, producers, duos or small bands.
- All genres welcome.
- Artists comfortable working without a separate control room (diy recording).
Practical Points
- Residency length: same as residency periods (consecutive months possibe).
- Accommodation: private bedroom with shared kitchen, lounge and bathroom facilities.
- Studio hours: 24/7 building access; Live Room based on schedule agreement before the beginning of the residency, minimum 14 non-consecutive days.
- Concert Hall: available throughout the whole residency period.
- Insurance: artists are responsible for their own gear and travel insurance.
- Fees: 200,000 ISK (≈1400€ , 1600$) for one person, If the project involves more than one person, each additional participant pays flat residency fee (160,000 ISK as of 2026).
